How to Eat Right If You Have Acid Reflux Disease

Certain foods should be avoided when you have acid reflux. Everything you eat should reflect your acid reflux disease diet. This will help keep you feeling better.

Instructions

    1

Make a list of foods that are okay for your acid reflux disease diet.

Put this list of foods on your fridge or in your pantry. Keep it close by to where you will be eating. That way, when you are hungry, you will have the list handy and can make sure you are eating right. You may also want to make a small list to bring with you when you go out to eat.

Some foods that are generally okay to eat on an acid reflux diet:
Broccoli, carrots, cabbage, peas, green beans, apples, bananas, chicken breast, feta cheese, oatmeal.

    2

Make a list of foods that are NOT okay for your acid reflux disease diet.

Put this list close to your list of foods that are okay.

Some foods that are generally NOT okay to eat:
Cottage cheese, macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, citrus fruits, ice cream, alcohol, chocolate, potato chips, soda.

    3

    Consult a doctor.

A doctor will help you write out a complete list of foods that are good and bad for acid reflux.

    Follow your lists carefully.

These lists will help keep you feeling better and will help deter your acid reflux symptoms.
