Will Potato Juice Get Rid of Stretch Marks?

Potato juice will do nothing to cure stretch marks whatsoever. Stretch marks are caused by an excess of the gluccocorticoid hormone in the body which keeps the skin taught and prevents the growth of elastic fibers in the middle layer of skin called the dermis in times of growth or weight gain. It should be emphasized that the tearing occurs in the middle layer of the tissue, beneath the exterior of the skin, therefore exfoliating scrubs and moisturizers do very little to cure what's already been done. Some people argue that potato juice contains vitamins and minerals which aid the growth and restoration of the skin. This is true; there is an abundance of vitamin E which aids the skin tremendously. However, the skin is incapable of absorbing the vast majority of vitamins and minerals needed for survival and good health. Even by some miracle if the skin were able to absorb these vitamins, without them passing through the digestive tract the body would be incapable of using them. One of the most effective methods for fixing stretch marks aside from surgery is lots of sunlight for vitamin D, plenty of Vitamin E, and continuous use of moisturizing lotion to keep the exterior layer of the skin from breaking as well. So you're best chance is to eat the entire potato rather than squashing it over your body.

Will Potato Juice Get Rid of Acne Scars?

Potato juice will not cure acne scars. Potato juice will clean the skin, its enzymes acting as a natural antiseptic useful for killing off the bacteria which cause acne outbreaks. In this way potato juice will indeed cure acne, but not the scars untreated acne leaves behind. Once the damage has been done, the scars cannot be removed. This does not mean that potato juice is of no use to aid the skin in healing. What people do not realize is that, though the scars are there to stay, they can be lightened and shrunk, making them less visible. The majority of scar tissue visible to the naked eye is made up of dead skin. Potato juice does contain acidic astringents which will eat away at this layer of dead tissue, reducing the overall size of the scar.

Application and Use

There are two ways to apply potato juice to the skin. One can simply cut the potato in half and rub the interior against the skin for half a minute. Allow the juice to dry before washing it off with warm water. Another method which works well for pimples and blackheads is to grate a potato and place it into a blender to turn it into a paste. Slather the past over the affected area and leave it for half an hour before scraping it off.
