Organic Juice Diets

Many people are looking for a way to lose weight easily, whether it's just a few pounds or several sizes. Although no diet is simple, an organic juice diet can be the way to go for some people. A diet of organic juices can rid the body of months and years of toxins while helping you lose weight. And organic produce is now easy to find.

Benefits of a Juice Diet

A juice diet does not technically have to be a fast, but it does have many cleansing qualities, which is the idea behind fasting. A juice diet can provide a large amount of essential vitamins and nutrients. Juice diets are easily digested and aid the elimination of waste.
Organic produce has many benefits over regular produce. No pesticides are used to grow organic produce, making them healthier and safer to eat. Additionally, organic produce is grown in soil that has not been treated with any synthetic chemicals. Many also believe that organic produce tastes fresher and better than regularly grown fruits and vegetables.

What to Drink

An organic juice diet is simple. Purchase organic produce from your supermarket, or check out your farmers markets for locally grown fruits and vegetables. Any organic fruit or vegetable can be used. Examples are apples, oranges, grapes, celery, carrots, spinach, cranberries, kale, pineapples, oranges, cantaloupes and watermelon. Up to 64 ounces of juice are recommended for each day on the diet. The use of a juicer is also recommended, as this is the easiest way to get the juice you need. The appliance allows you to juice a lot of produce that would normally be impossible to juice, such as carrots and celery.

Duration of the Diet

Depending on the individual, an organic juice diet can last for weeks or months. Tailor your diet to your individual needs. If you only need to lose a few pounds, the juice diet can be used for one to two weeks. To lose more weight, you may have to stay on the diet for six weeks or more. It is always best to talk to your doctor, nutritionist or other health professional to work out a plan that fits your individual weight-loss goal.

Possible Side Effects

While on the organic juice diet, there may be some side effects. Common ones are fatigue, headaches, bad breath, constipation or diarrhea and dizziness. More serious side effects may be low-blood pressure, regurgitation, fainting and kidney problems. Dehydration can occur, so be sure to drink plenty of water along with your organic juice drinks. If problems become too severe, speak to a health professional at once.
