Jack LaLanne Juicer Instructions

While juices can be purchased at a grocery store, nothing beats the nutrition and taste of freshly juiced fruits and vegetables. When juices are packaged, they can lose many of their nutrients, but fresh juices retain the healthful properties of the fruit or vegetable. A few simple steps are needed to operate a Jack LaLanne juicer.

Preparation

Before you begin juicing, the machine must be set up properly. Begin assembly by placing the base of the machine on a flat surface. Fit the receptacle over the base and the filter inside. The blade used to juice the fruit should be placed inside the filter. It must be turned counterclockwise until it fits in the machine tightly. Place the lid over the top of the machine and turn it to lock it in place. Set the juice cup underneath the spout to catch the juices. Finally, plug the machine into an electrical outlet.

Making the Juice

Making the juice is simple. First, be sure your fruits and vegetables are clean. They should be washed with a fruit and vegetable wash before juicing to prevent contaminating the juice with any dirt or bacteria. If the fruits or vegetables are too big to fit in the juice chute, cut them into large chunks. Finally, place the fruits and vegetables in the chute. Do not overload the machine. Allow each piece to be liquefied before forcing more into the opening.

Cleaning

The Jack LaLanne juicer should be cleaned each time it is used. After juicing, remove the juice cup, lid and compartment that collects pulp. Unplug the machine. Unscrew the blade carefully using the crescent tool that accompanies the machine.Take out the filter and the receptacle. All removable parts of the juicer can be washed with a mild detergent in warm water. Do not use bleach on any of the parts. Wipe the exterior of the juicer with a damp cloth. Allow all parts to dry thoroughly.
