Candida & Gallstone Cleanse

Candida & Gallstone Cleanse

Candida infestation and gallstone are two very common ailments that cause an array of disturbances. Cleansing the liver and gallbladder can relieve intermittent and chronic symptoms. As maintenance, the practice of cleaning keeps the system in balance, the organs functioning well and the immune system strong. As candida originates in the digestive system, it can be cleansed along with the gallbladder. Gallbladder congestion also creates a breeding ground for candida and parasites.

Many doctors advocate cleansing for restoring health. Two noted authorities in the field of detoxification are Dr. Sandra Cabot, who specializes in the health of the liver and digestive system, and Dr. William Crook, author of the popular book "The Yeast Connection."

The gallbladder is a small pear-shaped sac located under the right lobe of the liver. It receives bile from the liver and holds it until it is released into the intestine to aid in digestion of fats. Bile also helps eliminate certain waste products (mainly bilirubin and excess cholesterol) and by-products of drugs from the body. Cholesterol can build up in the gallbladder and form gallstones.

Candida is a fungus caused by mutation and migration of yeast in the body. This yeast overgrowth can cause many symptoms.

Gallstones and sludge build up, it stagnates and creates an unsanitary haven for bacteria. This promotes growth of candida and parasites. It is prudent to cleanse the gallbladder regularly to remove gallstones and prevent new ones from forming. This can remove this toxic load from the gallbladder and remove toxins and candida from the blood, allowing it to cleanse other areas of the body. Cleansing involves the liver as well, which purifies the blood and our entire system.

The liver is the gateway to the body. Any cleansing involves the liver as it is responsible for removing impurities from the blood. This includes dead cells, chemicals, drugs, and particulates and microorganism such as candida. The liver filter, like any filter, must be cleansed regularly. Daily healthy eating habits will maintain the liver filter. The liver manufactures bile for the digestion of fats. Cholesterol comes from two sources: the foods we eat and the liver produces it. There is so-called good cholesterol and bad cholesterol. Diet can affect the ratio of good to bad cholesterol that we produce. It also affects the quality of the bile that we produce. Good-quality bile and good cholesterol will keep the condition of our bodies, arteries and gallbladder healthy and sludge free. Diet and cleansing are our pathway to this.

Periodically or as needed this cleanse will clean out the liver, gallbladder and intestines, relieving pain, gas, bloating and providing renewed energy.

The Cleanse

    Digestive System

This cleanse, taken from Dr. Cabot's book, "The Healthy Liver and Bowel Book," will stimulate flow of bile from the liver to the gallbladder to flush it out. It will remove toxins, parasites, and candida and cleanse the blood.

It is a good idea to fast for a day or two on liquids only prior to beginning the cleanse. This will prepare your body and begin a gentle cleansing. Drink plenty of fresh water, juices, vegetable broths and green drinks. Take supplemental vitamins and minerals throughout fasting and cleansing to maintain health and electrolytes. Next cleanse the bowels with a gentle laxative. Use something natural. Prune juice or a couple of tablespoons of magnesium works well.

On the day of the cleanse drink only water and juice. Take a strong laxative mid-day. Epsom salt is recommended, as the magnesium in it also help relax the bile ducts so the contents pass easily. Follow directions on the package. Plan on going to bed early and resting so your body can cleanse. By late afternoon or early evening, take to bed and begin drinking the cleanse.

For the cleanse you will need citrus juices of lemon and grapefruit and olive oil. You may add lime and orange for flavor if you like, but it is not necessary. You want concentrated or fresh-squeezed, pure lemon and grapefruit juice at full potency. Mix 1 cup lemon juice, 1 cup grapefruit juice and 1 cup distlled water. Press two cloves of garlic and 1/2 teaspoon of ginger, squeezing out the juice and adding it to the juice mixture. Garlic and grapefruit help kill candida, and lemon helps restore the body's internal pH balance. Ginger aids digestion.

Put 11 ounces of olive oil into a warm cup or glass. Drink the olive oil, chasing it with the juice mixture: a gulp of olive oil followed by a gulp of juice to wash it down. Keep going slowly, taking short breaks as needed to get the oil down. You want to get the whole thing down in 30 to 60 minutes. While doing this, lay in bed and relax. Place a heating pad or hot water bottle over your liver and this will help dilate the bile ducts also. You will continue sipping left over juice as long as you are still awake. It helps to digest the oil. Drink plenty of water, and allow yourself to drift off to sleep. The next day or two make sure you are getting plenty of water, juices and nutrients as you will be cleansing heavily. After the cleanse and on a regular basis, take a probiotic supplement to help maintain a healthy balance of intestinal flora.

Maintenance

A healthy daily diet of fresh, cleansing fruits and vegetables will help keep your system in good health. It helps the liver produce healthy, effective bile and good cholesterol. Regular maintenance cleansing ensures that the body does not become burdened and the immune system weakened by the workload of accumulated sludge, bacteria and parasites. Pregnant women, elderly or ill people should consult a doctor before doing a cleanse.
