Cures for Acid Reflux Disease

Cures for Acid Reflux Disease

Many people suffer from heartburn, acid reflux or GERD and are in need of a cure. While, in most cases, it cannot be cured, there are treatment options. Treatment options range from prescription drugs to home remedies. Most sufferers of GERD have to try out different treatments before finding one that works for them.

Apple cider vinegar

Use 2 tbsp. of apple cider vinegar in a glass of warm water. Sip the concoction slowly.

Baking soda

Apple cider vinegar and baking soda neutralize stomach acid. Add 2 tbsp. of apple cider vinegar and 1/4 tsp. of baking soda to a glass of warm water. Sip the mixture slowly.

Pickle juice

Pickle juice is a common home remedy to cure acid reflux. Sip 1/2 cup of pickle juice and eat a pickle. This works with sweet pickles, too.

Apples

Apples work the same as apple cider vinegar and taste better. Eat one apple when acid reflux begins.

Dietary change

Changing the diet can significantly reduce acid reflux. Foods high in acid and dairy are the biggest culprits.

Antacid

The calcium in antacids like Tums work great in reducing acid reflux. Prilosec will also help but needs to be taken daily.
