Although proper weight loss can take months, the higher metabolism and active lifestyle of teenagers compared to adults can make losing weight an easier process. So if you are trying to fit into a dress for your school dance, impress a girl in class or just want to stay in good physical condition, losing weight quickly with the right diet and physical activities can be an achievable goal.
Instructions
- 1
Eat five or six small meals a day to increase your metabolism. Spacing out your meals throughout the day will speed up the weight loss process. Low-density foods such as salads, fresh fruits and vegetables can make light snacks and meals. Reducing your calorie intake substantially may enable you to lose as much as four pounds in two weeks.
2Remove processed foods and ones containing preservatives and saturated fats from your diet. Foods that are high in sugar and fats will keep you from losing weight. Teenagers who eat out will almost always consume more calories, because portion sizes are larger and generally contain more saturated fats. Eat unprocessed fruits, vegetables and white meat.
3Drink at least 64 oz. of water a day, the equivalent of eight cups. Your body will retain more liquid if you do not obtain the necessary amount, and this may cause bloating of the face, feet and hands and add extra weight. Avoid other types of liquids that increase calorie intake, like soda and fruit juices. According to the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology, drinking at least 64 ounces of water can help you lose one pound in two weeks.
4Increase your physical activity. Regular exercise, in the form of a workout or just performing chores around the house, is just as important as eating well. Add to your normal physical activities with aerobic exercises like swimming, jogging, walking, sports and any other calorie-burning regimen. Exercising for at least 15 to 30 minutes daily can help you burn fat and keep it off, possibly enabling you to lose as much as two pounds in two weeks.
