What Is Mangosteen Juice Used for?

Purple mangosteen, most commonly referred to as simply mangosteen is a tropical fruit touted for its "super food" abilities. Because mangosteens contain large amounts of antioxidants and nutrients, mangosteen juice is now commonly used as a nutritional supplement.

Anti-Aging

Antioxidants, found in large amounts in mangosteen juice, aid the body in fighting free radicals, which are largely responsible for the physical signs of aging.

Anti-Inflammatory

Some people with inflammatory diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis and Crohn's disease, use mangosteen juice to decrease cellular inflammation and pain.

Cancer Prevention

Antioxidants appear to play an important role in the prevention of several types of cancer, so high-antioxidant fruits and vegetables, including mangosteen, may offer this benefit.

Infectious Disease

Because mangosteen juice contains immune-supporting compounds like Vitamin C, it may help to prevent viral and bacterial infections.

Weight Loss

Mangosteen juice and other "super" fruits are sometimes used in diet pills, juice fasts and liquid diets because they are believed to stimulate the metabolism.
