    Lifestyle changes can help with chronic acid reflux issues. Reducing consumption of alcohol, caffeine and soft drinks while monitoring portion sizes during meals may affect how often you experience symptoms.

Side effects

    Using acid reflux medications can cause side effects. Long term use can lead to diarrhea, and serious kidney problems. If you suffer from chronic occurrence of symptoms, seek out the assistance of your doctor.
